We are products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners of it.

Financial Wellness
Week 12 (03/21/2021): One of the best financial investments you can make is investing in YOURSELF. Taking better care of yourself, drives your relationship with money. Take time to relax and rejuvenate. When we are stressed, we tend to make poor financial decisions. So just chill and put your feet up.
Week 11 (03/14/2021): We are loving the sixties. Yes, look again. We did that and looking forward to crushing the next milestone. $70K here we come!
Week 10 (03/07/2021): We are loving the sixties. Yes, look again. We did that and looking forward to crushing the next milestone. $70K here we come!
Week 9 (02/28/2021): The road to financial freedom can be difficult at times, especially when you sacrifice a lot to get to a certain point. Setbacks are not permanent. They are a part of life. So don't get discourage with you hit a financial roadblock or bump in the road. Just access and reset as needed.

Week 8 (02/21/2021): Getting out of debt is one thing but staying out of debt is another. Once you pay off a credit card, cut it up but don't close it as you want that credit history. No one needs 5 credit cards. Having 1-2 credit cards as your go to is good enough.
Week 7 (02/14/2021): Happy Self Love Day! One way to practice self love is to be to take care of yourself NOW and set yourself up for LATER. Money can enhance your life but shouldn't become your life. When you exercise self restraint you can still treat yourself and celebrate your financial success along the way.

Week 6 (02/07/2021): We crossed $60K in money saved and therefore reached 75% of our goal at the start of Month 2. Check out our new post on setting up and automating your financial accounts.
Week 5 (01/31/2021): We crossed $50K in both money saved and debt reduced. What is our secret? We are paying ourselves first. If you can, try automatically putting away 10% of your income. When money sits in your checking account, it has the tendency to disappear. So set it and forget it.
Week 4 (01/24/2021): Have you ever wondered where all you money went? Somehow the money coming in leaves faster than expected. If you look closely, you probably have one area that is burning the largest hole in your pocket. Mine is food. Groceries, eating out with friends and family. It quickly adds up. One easy solution is to limit the amount of times you eat out a week. Just cutting back 1 day each week can make a huge difference in the long run.
Week 3 (01/17/2021): Keeping up with the Jones' can get you into financial trouble really quickly. So take some time to think about whether that upcoming purchase is really necessary because one thing for sure is that the Jones' won't be bailing you out if you get over you head.

Week 2 (01/10/2021): We all take time this week to review our finances and set our new goals. As a group, our goal is to save $80K and reduce our debt by $100K. It's no small feat but we are determined more than ever.
Week 1 (01/03/2021): One of our participant paid off ALL their debt! But just like weight loss, it's one thing to lose the weight and another to maintain it. That is why reviewing your budget at least once a week is crucial to your financial success. Setting a recurring appointment on your calendar will help you stay on track. I like Sunday afternoons as it helps me to make any adjustments before the week. So if I spent too much on eating out, I know the coming week I need to whip up some meals at home.

Physical Wellness
Week 12 (03/21/2021): Did you hear that? We are knocking on the doors of the 90s. I know this week we will cross over 90 lbs lost as a group. That's the power of support, encouragement and accountability.
Week 11 (03/14/2021): We haven't even completed Month 3 and one of our members have met their target weight loss goal. What a great achievement and inspiration to us all to be consistent and persistent.
Week 10 (03/07/2021): We crossed 70 lbs weight lost and over 600 workouts completed!
Week 9 (02/28/2021): Plateaus suck and can be discouraging. If you're hit a plateau first try changing up your workout. If that doesn't work try changing up your diet. Our bodies adapt rather quickly. And sometimes you need to shock your body.
Week 8 (02/21/2021): We crossed 60 lbs lost as a group!!! It's no small feat and we celebrate each step of the way.

Week 7 (02/14/2021): As we anxiously await crossing 60lbs weight lost, one noteworthy accomplishment is how much we are working out. On average we are working out 6 days a week. We've gone from couch potatoes to gym rats. I love the progress we are making.
Week 6 (02/07/2021): It's Month 2 and we've completed 55% of our workouts. This is not a challenge but a lifestyle change. Working out at least 3x per weeks is essential to our overall physical and mental health. So whether it's a walk, class, bike, or trainer, get those workouts in.

Week 5 (01/31/2021): We are starting Month 2 and sending in the reinforcements. I can do cardio daily but I can't stand strength training or anything intense. But the same workouts and routines are not working so a few of us decided to get a trainer. Can't wait to see the results!
Week 4 (01/24/2021): We are kicking our workouts into high gear and seeing the results. From yoga, cardio, weight training, and dancing we are doing what needs to be done.
Week 3 (01/17/2021): This challenge is a CHALLENGE. We are working out but the weight is not coming off as quickly which can be discouraging at times. But one encouraging thing is that we are creating habits and feel better physically and mentally after our workouts. So progress is still progress!

Week 2 (01/10/2021): Losing weight has been our group's biggest challenge but we newfound determination and even more accountable I know we will succeed. Our collective goal is to lose 180lbs and complete at least 1000 workouts! Let the challenge begin!
Week 1 (01/03/2021): Sometimes the scale doesn't show all the work you accomplished. One of our participants went from X-Large to Medium. While the scale hasn't moved in weeks, the fat loss has been evident. So don't get discourage when the scale doesn't move. It sometimes take a few weeks to catch up. If the plateau continues try changing up your workout routine or doing a detox. Sometimes our bodies need a bit of a shock to get it going again.
