Are you fueling your fitness goals? You know when you have a new car, the feeling that you have? The new smell, the clean interior, the fresh paint. You go hard in the beginning right.
Car washes, seat covers, and the supreme gas giving the car the best of the best. Well your body is the same thing; you have to give it the best to be optimal. So, what does that look like when you have so much to choose from. Well let’s keep it simple.
When it comes to your car, you must see a mechanic to maintain it and get expert help. The same applies to yourself. Make sure you see your doctor or a nutritional professional. They can give you insight on your body type, blood type, and assess your overall goals. Not everyone is the same so seeing a professional can really help you to see what will and will not work for you.
Pre and post workout protein shakes: What can make and break your workout can be not having enough nutrients to fuel it. Having a pre-workout shake or snack can really give you the boost you need. Recovery is just as important. After a vigorous work-out your body needs replenishment. Having a protein-based post workout shake or snack can help with recuperation.
Meal replacements: You ever look at all the food you have to eat on the food pyramid. It's a lot for one day. Who has time for all that eating? Not me. If you are like me, meal replacement shakes and bars are a lifesaver in a pinch. I never have time for breakfast so it's easy to throw powder in some almond milk and it gets me through my morning shift.
Vitamins: When I do choose meal replacements, I also add multivitamins to my routine. This to ensure I do not miss out on all my body needs to be in a quintessential state of being. Some of my vitamins include: Collagen, Vitamin C, D, E, Biotin, Apple cider (pill form). Again, consulting a professional can really narrow what you need.
Water: Can’t forget about the necessity to life. Water is going to keep you hydrated. Now I am not a fan of water. I tried very hard to make my water palatable. I use energy fizz powder, lemon, mint, aloe vera, I know that sounds like a meal instead of water, but it helps! Also. I just started finding tasty coconut water. Now the point is to not add sugar, it defeats the purpose.
Fruits and Vegetables: Mother nature is the best chef, giving us the best of the best from the soil. You have a sweet tooth? Fruits that can help curb you from artificial sweeteners. Add them to your water and it can change your life. Be adventurous with them too, while in Hawaii I found fruits like Rambutan and I know the outside looks like an alien, or something found on the seafloor. I kid you not they taste like candy! Warning do not over consume fruits because they do have sugars and can derail your overall goals. Have them just in moderation. Vegetables are the best way to get almost everything you need, water (yes), fiber, vitamins, and over healing properties. Studies show raw veggies are better, but just get them in. They are going to be filling and assisting with your goals, gains and loss.
I put aloe vera in my smoothies, can't take the taste alone
